The very first Koenigsegg CCR revealed to the public is heading to auction next month and is expected to sell for between €720,000 (US$877,000) and €760,000 (US$926,000).

The very first Koenigsegg presented to the world was dubbed the CC and a few years later, the niche Swedish automaker unveiled the CC8S. Then, at the Geneva Motor Show in 2004, it showed this very CCR, the third model it had built and a significant improvement over the ones that came before it.

This CCR is chassis 7011 and was used by Koenigsegg as a show car for a couple of years before it was registered new in Germany in May 2006. It is finished in a special color dubbed Lava Orange and is one of just 14 CCR models that were ever built. The supercar has spent time in collections in Germany, France, and Luxembourg but still only has just 2,347 km on the clock.

Powering the CCR is a 4.7-liter V8 that doesn’t feature a pair of turbochargers like the brand’s current models but instead has a pair of superchargers. All up, the powertrain delivers 806 hp and 679 lb-ft (920 Nm) of torque, all of which is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.

On February 28, 2005, Koenigsegg brought a CCR to the Nardo Ring in Italy and pushed it through to a top speed of 241.01 mph (387.87 km/h), topping the McLaren F1 to be the world’s fastest production car. However, this record was broken in April 2005 by the Bugatti Veyron.
