Bright Pink Cadillac Coupe de Ville Is A Surefire Way To Turn Heads

A 1959 Cadillac Coupe de Ville has popped up for sale on eBay and while bidding is approaching the $80,000 mark, it could be worth every penny.

The listing doesn’t provide all that many details about the car, but it has been upgraded and restored. The seller states that it “gets more looks than a Lamborghini” and thanks to the pink paint and the car’s road presence, that’s probably true.

Helping transform the look of the car is an Accuair air suspension system that means the ride height can be easily adjusted, perfect for when you want to lower it for a show or raise it up to get over a speedbump. The exterior of the car also includes custom wheels with whitewall tires and the white roof nicely contrasts the pink paint.

Extensive work has also been done on the interior of the Cadillac as all the seats and the trunk have been re-trimmed in white leather. The cabin also features blue ambient lighting and there is now a digital instrument cluster that displays things like battery voltage, oil temperature, speed, revs, temperature, and fuel levels. A new Bluetooth audio system has also been fitted so you can blast your favorite tunes while cruising up and down Rodeo Drive.

The listing notes that the Caddy has 53,000 miles (85,295 km) on the clock and is located in Riverton, Utah. While bidding was sitting at $76,100 at the time of writing, the reserve hadn’t been met.

Porsche Collaborates With New York Fashion Label For A Special 911 SC

Porsche has teamed up with New York fashion label Aimé Leon Dore (ALD) and restored a 911 Super Carrera (SC) for this year’s New York Fashion Week.

ALD founder and creative director Teddy Santis decided to have the car finished in the ‘Olive’ classic Porsche color and have rally-inspired auxiliary lights fitted to the bonnet alongside Fuchs wheels and a roof rack.

“The vision for this project was always to portray the Super Carrera with a completely different type of intimacy than the 964 but in a way that would feel equally impactful,” Santis says. “The design of the vehicle and the creative direction for the project both come from my childhood on the Greek islands and the unique beauty of things that get better with age and wear in that environment.”

The interior of the car is just as special as the exterior. For example, Persian carpets have been used as floor mats and are also found in the door panels. In addition, the original Recaro seats were restored by Recaro itself and all the materials used in the cabin were processed by hand.

Porsche and ALD displayed the 911 SC at Porsche’s flagship showroom in Manhattan over the weekend.

“Working in partnership with Porsche is always a deeply humbling experience and a privilege, but this project specifically left me with a deeper appreciation for the company, its core values, and the amazing people that work there,” added Santis. “It is a testament to the dedication, resourcefulness, and vision of the Porsche team that our relationship became tighter during the coronavirus crisis when all our plans were being thrown into chaos and we needed to adapt. More so than ever, the realization of this project is as much about teamwork and collective belief as it is about the shared vision of the two brands.”

The Volvo P1800 Cyan Racing Really Is A Fantastic Restomod

Cyan Racing caught everyone by surprise when they first revealed their Volvo P1800 restomod, a stunning creation that transforms the original 1960s coupe into an exotic driving machine.

The amount of work done here is pretty exhaustive, starting with the body and chassis; while Cyan’s restomod retains the beautiful lines of the classic Volvo coupe, the body is entirely new and made out of carbon fiber while the chassis is also redesigned and strengthened using modern high-strength steel. The only parts that are still original to the donor car are the roof pillars and the windscreen wipers.

The end result of all this work is a front-engined, rear-drive coupe that tips the scales at just at 990 kg (2,182 lbs).

Cyan Racing also ditched the original rear live axle for double wishbones and added a torque-biasing limited-slip differential while they were at it. That was necessary because under the bonnet now lives a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine as used in the Volvo S60 TC1 race car, paired to a dog-leg five-speed manual transmission from Holinger.

The engine has been further tuned to provide a more linear power and torque curve, like a naturally aspirated unit, with its redline sitting at 7,700 rpm. Power is rated at 413 HP (419 PS) and 335 lb-ft (455 Nm) of torque, which appears to be more than enough for that weight figure.

Autocar had the opportunity to review the gorgeous Volvo P1800 Cyan and their impressions are more than positive. The beautiful restomod is as good as we hoped it be, offering a raw driving character with one of the greatest manual gear changes around, big unassisted brakes, and no ABS or traction control. Combine this with an excellent high-quality feeling inside and out, and suddenly that price tag starts to make sense.

As a bonus, we are also sharing AutotopNL‘s POV video on the same car, just to get a better idea of what it feels like behind the wheel of Cyan’s gorgeous P1800.

You Can Now Buy Patrick Dempsey’s Panoz-Built 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback SVT

The 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback is a fine car in stock form, but actor and racer Patrick Dempsey wanted it significantly improved to use it as a daily driver.

To help him turn the Mustang into the pony car of his dreams, he commissioned Panoz Auto Development and JRD, the official tuner of Panoz vehicles. 3,900 hours and approximately $300,000 later, Dempsey was presented with the black Mustang you see in these photos.

Completed in 2008, the project used a number of components from both the S197 and SN95 Mustangs, including a 420 HP supercharged 4.6-liter V8, Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission, bits of the suspension and brakes, and some interior items.

Dempsey later sold the car to Equus Automotive, which brought further updates to the exterior and interior. The current owner, who is based in Utah, has had it for the past three years and is now willing to part ways with it for a satisfactory amount of money. At the time of writing, and with six days until the auction ends, the highest bid on Bring A Trailer stands at $75,000.

So let’s see what you would get if you decided to bid for it – besides bragging rights for driving a car that Patrick Dempsey used to own.

On the outside, the 1965 Mustang keeps things classy with a black paint, rear wheel-arch flares to accommodate the S197 rear axle, 17-inch Torq Thrust–style wheels shod with BFGoodrich G-Force Sport tires, as well as HID headlights and LED taillights with a high-mounted third brake lamp. Upon acquiring the car from Dempsey, Equus Automotive modified the front and rear lower valances and replaced the hood and rear side window glass.

The changes made to the cabin are much more obvious and include a custom upholstered dashboard, metal pedal covers, air conditioning, power windows and door locks – all made by Panoz, with the power-window switches and climate-control buttons coming from a 2004 SVT Cobra. Equus Automotive redid the cabin with black leather seats, a modified lower console and a retro-style Becker Mexico radio with Bluetooth; plus, it also placed its logos on the modern steering wheel and headrests.

Since it was built to be a daily driver, the 1965 Mustang restomod also features modern tech such as power rack-and-pinion steering, ABS, traction control, front and rear three-point seatbelts, a collapsible steering column, and a child-seat restraint system in the back seat. Furthermore, Panoz used computer-assisted design and custom molds to develop front and rear crumple zones, integrated side-impact protection, and a reinforced toe box for additional chassis rigidity.

The car has been driven for approximately 8,500 miles (13,679 km) since the initial build and is now offered with a complete build guide and a clean Utah title. Check out the listing and following videos for the full details.
